BKK STORY {x} HELLO KITTY CAFE, SEOUL

2 months ago I was in Bangkok and I missed my flight back home (My brother think it is like a norm thing for me to miss my flight now - which is not true.)

Anyway, I met this couple at the counter desk because they missed their flight too. & we just decided that we should all hang out together during our 'extended' stay in Bangkok. And very quickly, we became friends (of course we have to be friends what! I iz sociable and they are friendly too!)

This woman, after getting to know that I am coming to Korea for a short while, decided that she wants to come with me for a not-so-short-holiday to experience Korean culture. Getting along well so far, of course I don't mind another one joining me on my trip.

But because words are still words, it is nothing without action - it happens all the time where people are spontaneous in the moment when they say it but are never spontaneous when it comes to actions - so I didn't take her words seriously.

Then... just 2 days before my take off... I received a message from her that she has her flight booked and will arrive 2 weeks after me. And here we are now in Korea together!

K, enough of my Bangkok-met-a-spontaneous-girl-story.

Cafes are all around Korea. You can find ALL.SORTS.OF.CAFE. HERE.
I found YAKUN COFFEE & TOAST here but the out look of the YAKUN here is not the same - will tell you more when I visit them to see how is it different from the one in SG ok?

I went to the HELLO KITTY CAFE! I went to the one at  Hongdae / Cute max.
This Hello Kitty cake doesn't come cheap. It cost KRW10,00 (~ SGD13)
It's super duple cute but no, not tasty.

Hello kitty cafe interior 1 - more like castle.

All that we ordered at the cafe while chilling out with all the cute things.
It took us about 15 mins to appreciate the waffles, cake and coffee before we nomz.

It took us 1 hour to get out of the cafe because we (okay, just me) had to take pictures of everything and with everything. It is not that successful when my friend is not a 'picture person'

This is the best picture I have of me with that 'HELLO KITTY CAFE'
yes, don't laugh.

IMO, if you like cute stuff and Hello Kitty, you should visit this cafe but the drinks/pastries are not cheap and its not that yummy. My friend ( A HELLO KITTY FANATIC ) thinks otherwise though.
But everything here is cute.

Direction:
-> Hongik University station / Exit 5
-> Go Straight about 400m and pass by Paris Baguette/Starbucks
-> Bright Pink Cafe is tucked in a street on your left

秘密之旅// Seoul secretive

Bumming around the neighborhood.

It should be Autumn now but it's 37°C in the afternoon.

It's so warm I regretted not bringing more basic tees/shorts here because all the clothes I see on the street are so teeny weeny an elephant like me can't fit in ): I'm on a budget anyway~~ *phew* else, it'd be a shopping spree (bad idea!)

It feels like a food trip though. Too much good stuff everywhere. Look below!
            Fresh meat from the butcher.
                 && more Korean BBQ
Can't stop nomz-ing~

고양이 카페 x Go Dabang Cat cafe

Walking down the street off Gangnam and chanced upon this adorable mascot standing on the street fanning itself.

Took a picture with this adorable meow and received a brochure of a Cat cafe. With no hesitation at all - since we had no idea what to do on a lazy afternoon - we went straight up to the cat cafe which was just a stone throw away from where the mascot was.

There are signs everywhere to guide you to that Cat cafe and though in Korean, just keep following anywhere with cat figures and you will find your way there. *Excited* I haven't been to a cat cafe, not even in Singapore.

Once we push the door in, we are greeted by this resident cat laying by the counter - so lazy so meow - and there were at least 20 people in this cafe - couples, individual, family ~

I love this cat, she is soooooooo beautiful, I feel like just stealing her off from the cafe. She can be quite shy though. I took so many shots of her and this is the ONLY best one that shows her kitty cutie face.
*Mwahhhhhhxzs*

Below is the 'DO NOT DO' to meows in the house.

I don't understand what is written, I am using the graphic drawings and making it out - all these should be common sense for any normal adults, isn't it?

Anyhow, it seems that dog/cat cafes are the hot thing in Korea and that people are coming to chill out here. I heard dogs cafe are usually more crowded than cat cafe - I still wanna go though.

Meow in that cafe doesn't seem to like me ): Even with treats in my hand , they don't come to me. I wonder if it's because I have dogs at home? (IDK?! I'm just wondering) For people who really adores cat, maybe you can chill out the whole day at the cafe just playing with the meows.

If you were to ask me again, I guess I'd prefer to go next door for Ice-cream and talk to people who are interested in conversation with me - I have no luck with meow, what to do? >(

Moving On...

Dear love,

It is tough getting over you. There are so many things - from seeing, hearing to walking down the street which reminds me of you. But we don't even have a friendship I can call to share with you.

Its been almost four months since we ended things and I still think about you almost every single day -  I still wonder how and what you’re doing, and if you ever think about me.

These past four months have been hell without you. We always had our silly little fights which we would end up in cuddles and things will work out by its own, that's just the way we were. So when you ended it, I figured things would just work themselves out again, but they dint. and I think that's what hurts me the most.

Do not misunderstand. We've had a great time together for the past 30 months, and all that we had will remain at the back of my head. I know our paths will meet again. Maybe someday I'll be more mature and better prepared for whatever comes my way.

People say that every single person comes to our life with a lesson to teach us.

Now it’s time to say goodbye. There’s no one and nothing to blame. We just learned our lessons both of us had to offer to one another. Being with you was not part of my plan. I hope I've taught you something and colored up your life a little than before you met me :)

I wish you'd find your soul-mate and your happiness in time to come.

Remember, be happy :')

SELAMAT HARI RAYA // A day of celebration

Selamat Hari Raya to all of my Muslim friends :)

Hari Raya is a festival which is celebrated by the Muslims worldwide. My Muslim friends tell me it is a whole month where they put back all of the weight they lose from the fasting period of Ramadan (A month where they fast from dawn to sunset).

This year, I went to my ex-colleague's open house (for Hari Raya) and there in the living hall were 2 tables - 1 was filled and displayed with tidbits and pastries while another was food (Noodles, rice cakes, curry~) spread across the long table. I knew I was in for a feast, yumz.
(This is one of my favorite butter biscuit in rainbow colors. so pretty right!)

Laksa - Noodle in spicy soup
(Lontong -  Rice cakes served with Qeema
Qeema is a curry minced meat with potatoes and peas)

I was the only Chinese in the house yo~ You know, my friend they just got to be funny and say I am a Tibetan - Why Tibetan? Aye, it's a long story back then when we were in Bangkok -  (they didn't think I look Chinese, though)
Jam's relatives all came in their traditional outfit - Baju Kurung - so vibrant and pretty! That alone is enough to call for picture taking.

(Jam and her 2 cuzz - they look soooooo cute, don't they?)
That's Fai and her ever rising brow.

I enjoyed myself spending the whole day at Jam's - cooking and serving her guest ( as if I am the host )
It is exhausting just to cook a spread of dishes for the incoming crowds at different timing not to mention the cleaning up thereafter the open-house? So thankful for that.

Unpleasant.

Just cause I'm funny and handle jokes well doesn't mean I'm a joke.

People don't take me seriously and I'm displeased about it.

revīvere

Hi,

It's been almost 3 years since my last post.

People may have long forgotten about my existence, let alone this little space I used to bare my daily rants.

Time pass too fast and I've failed to 'capture' beautiful moments and/or sometimes I just get overwhelmed by so many things/people happening around me.

I'm reviving this space - to post what is worth remembering and shared :)

Just need a little more time.....
